Message Reactions Flow

The Message Reactions Flow is a special flow that allows authors to handle user reactions with emoji to messages within the Teams channel. By default, all message reactions are ignored by Druid, and the system does not react or execute any flow.

When configured, Druid captures user reaction events sent to messages within the Teams channel and passes the reaction value (e.g., heart, applause, fire) to the system within [[Intent]].MessageReaction, allowing it to process or respond to user reactions accordingly.

Info: This special flow is available starting with Druid 10.2.

Channel Compatibility

  • Microsoft Teams: Supported for message reactions.

Create and configure the Message reactions flow

To enable handling of message reactions, create a flow to process the incoming reaction value and set it on your AI Agent:

  1. In the Flow Designer, create a new flow designed to handle message reactions and make sure to select from the Special flow type dropdown.
  2. Add condition steps or logic referencing [[Intent]].MessageReaction to determine the received reaction type and trigger appropriate AI Agent actions or messages.
  3. Navigate to AI Agent Details.
  4. Click on Dialogue Management.
  5. Locate the Message reactions flow dropdown and select the flow you created.
  6. Click Save.

How It Works

When the Message reactions flow is configured:

  1. A user sends a reaction to an AI Agent message in the Teams channel.
  2. Druid receives the reaction event from the channel.
  3. Druid sets [[Intent]].MessageReaction to the reaction value.
  4. Druid triggers the Message reactions flow.
  5. The flow executes the custom logic defined by the author to process the reaction.
